There's a lot of talk about which restaurants have the best tenderloins, but I'll let you in a dirty little secret...most of what passes for tenderloin is frozen, breaded patties ordered from a wholesale distributor. However, at the Pit Stop, our tenderloins are always fresh, never frozen. You've never tasted such a tenderloin - we slice it, pound it flat, bread it, soak it in buttermilk, bread it again, and either grill it or deep fry it based on your preference. Try one - your taste buds will thank you.
When we opened our restaurant in Brownsburg 6 years ago, we chose the name "Pit Stop" for two reasons. First, of course, "pit" refers to a BBQ pit. The second reason is because we love racing. Both myself and my son have been involved in racing for years - my son still races on the Midget circuit. Also, we wanted to appeal to folks who love auto racing and good food...what with all the tracks in the area, it seemed like a natural fit. And, we usually have a race car in our dining area where you can get a photo taken of yourself or your child sitting in a real race car. So race in for BBQ & fun! Thanks, and we look forward to serving you...Eric & Harold Cottongim

Our history of serving good BBQ to the public goes all the way back to 1961, when my dad Harold Cottongim opened his restaurant on the east side of Indianapolis. Since that time, our family seems to have always been in the hospitality industry with a variety of restaurants & catering operations. One thing hasn't changed, however, and that's our attention to detail and quality. We use only the finest of ingredients, best cuts of meat, and fresh produce in all our foods. At Pit Stop, our goal is to provide you with an enjoyable experience; from the ambiance of our racing theme dining area, to our hand cut, hand prepared tenderloins, our 14 hour smoked pork & chicken, and our friendly servers. From our house to yours - welcome!
The smoke ring is the red ring you see on quality smoked BBQ brisket. Some folks think that because our brisket or pulled pork is somewhat pink, it's not quite cooked. Nothing could be further from the truth - after 14 hours of cooking, not a single malevolent microbe could possibly exist! Our BBQ is prepared Southern Style, which means that it's smoked with hickory wood for an extended period, not on a charcoal grill. The taste is unique, and our customers tell us that we have the best BBQ in Indiana...try it for yourself, and taste the difference!
